Description
Also known as a urinary drainage bag, is a medical device used to collect and store urine from patients who have difficulty or are unable to urinate on their own. It is commonly used in hospitals, nursing homes, and home care settings for patients with various medical conditions, such as those recovering from surgery, with urinary incontinence, or who are bedridden or immobilized. The urine bag is connected to the patient’s urinary catheter through a sterile tube. The catheter is inserted into the bladder, allowing the urine to flow into the bag. The bag itself is equipped with an anti-reflux valve that prevents urine from flowing back into the catheter, reducing the risk of infection.
